Dinner and overnight stay.
We have breakfast. Drive to Fontaine de Vaucluse, one of Provence's most beautiful villages, which has also attracted many artists and poets: Seneca, Petrarch, Frédéric Mistral and René Char to name but a few. It is famous for its impressive emerald-green spring, which gushes out at the foot of a 230-metre-high cliff. This gigantic fountain has the most powerful water flow in France (and the fifth largest in the world), with almost 630 million cubic meters annually! Walk to the chasm. Then visit a paper mill. Immerse yourself in the mallet room and workshop. The paper mill worker explains and explains the entire rag paper manufacturing process. Then lunch. Drive to Avignon. Guided tour of the city's dazzling historic center, including the Place de l'Horloge, its magnificent theater and town hall, and the Place du Palais. Entrance to the Palais des Papes, symbol of the power of Christianity and of the temporal and spiritual power exercised by the papacy in the Middle Ages... The residence of the 14th-century pontiffs, it is the most important Gothic palace in the world. Return to hotel, dinner and overnight accommodation.
We have breakfast. Departure with your guide. You'll pass through the hilltop villages of Provence: Bonnieux, Lacoste, Oppède, Ménerbes... Lunch. Departure for Roussillon, which sparkles under the ochre-colored lights. Stroll along the Sentier des Ocres, an itinerary through the heart of the ancient ochre quarries, with their thousand and one colors. Free time in the village. Return to the hotel via Gordes, dinner and overnight stay.
We have breakfast. Meet your guide for the day. Departure for the Alpilles, a white limestone massif surrounded by olive groves and vineyards. Pass by Daudet's mill in Fontvieille and arrive at Les Baux-de-Provence, a fortress perched on a rocky promontory offering a breathtaking view of the Alpilles massif. Visit to the monumental Carrières de Lumières, home to the world's only multimedia show, immersed in the heart of the limestone quarries. Lunch on site. Guided tour of an olive oil mill, followed by an olive oil tasting. Free time in downtown Saint-Rémy-de-Provence. Return to hotel. Dinner and overnight accommodation.
