D-1: Arrival

Check-in at the end of the day at your 3* hotel in the Uzès region. Dinner and overnight stay.

D-2: Cévennes steam train - Anduze bamboo grove (130 km)

We have breakfast. Departure for La Bambouseraie d'Anduze, a visit to one of France's most beautiful exotic gardens. This unique garden boasts over 1000 varieties of bamboo, rare flowers, remarkable trees and plants, offering a magical and totally unexpected interlude in the Cévennes Gardoises. Lunch on board. Ride on the authentic "Train à Vapeur des Cévennes" to Saint Jean du Gard. Then visit the Cévennes Valleys Museum, housed in the oldest silk spinning mill in France, and boasting an incredible collection of almost 10,000 objects. All aspects of daily life in the Cévennes valleys are represented: housing, farming and the history of the Cévennes. Return to hotel, dinner and overnight accommodation.

D-3: Nîmes - Pont du Gard (65 km)

We have breakfast. Departure for Nîmes. Guided tour of the city, including entrance to the Arènes, the best-preserved amphitheatre in the Roman world, and on to the Mai son Carrée. Then a stroll through the Jardins de la Fontaine. Lunch. Then on to the Pont du Gard, one of the wonders of Antiquity, a grandiose 1st-century structure. Free visit of the various museum areas. Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight accommodation.

D-4: Uzès - Alès (70 km)

We have breakfast. Guided tour of Uzès, a city of art and history, with its medieval streets and beautiful residences built in the 17th and 18th centuries. The town exudes a serene, radiant beauty. Lunch on site. Visit to the Alès show mine, a mining structure unique in France and an exceptional testimony to the mining history of the Cévennes basin. On the way back, visit a wine cellar with wine tasting. Dinner and overnight stay.

D-5: Return
